Our tutors complete a rigorous 10-hour training program, but learning doesn’t stop there. Each month we offer Tutor Support Workshops, where adult education experts and experienced tutors share practical strategies for teaching adult learners. Topics vary and may include grammar instruction, pronunciation, creative teaching tools like graphic novels or song lyrics, and other effective classroom techniques.

Tuesday, April 15, 2026, 11 am to 12:30 pm
This interactive workshop will give us the opportunity to review the selected processes and steps taken to improve our students’ learning experience while maximizing our tutors’ time, experience, and available resources.
Additionally, we will discuss the different programs available locally and at the state level, both for students and tutors. We will allocate time during this workshop to address concerns and challenges we face as an organization and community.
