Come be a part of a team helping to feed your neighbors dealing with hunger and food insecurity! We need HELP distributing Thanksgiving turkeys, hams, and roaster chickens from our Clifton pantry/warehouse, to other local food pantries who are coming to pick up from us. IF YOU CAN'T STAY FOR THE ENTIRE SHIFT, STAY FOR AS LONG AS YOU'RE ABLE! We're assisting the Community FoodBank of New Jersey with its annual Thanksgiving distribution to its Partner Agency pantries in Passaic County: tasks include helping load frozen turkeys, chickens, and hams, and "holiday boxes" of sides, into the vehicles of the pantries that will be picking up. IF YOU HAVE GLOVES, WEAR THEM - THE MEAT IS FROZEN!! This is an outdoor activity, so dress appropriately for the weather. Must be able to lift 20+ pounds. This is a great opportunity to earn community service hours, for students, and to just give back to your community!
YOU CANNOT SIGN UP FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY DIRECTLY HERE ON VOLUNTEERPASSAIC.ORG! You must go to our website at https://foodbrigade.org/volunteer, submit a volunteer application form, and sign up through our own volunteer scheduling platform for this shift.
If you are under the age of 18, your parent or guardian must call us to give their consent before you will be able to proceed.
Again, do not click the blue "RESPOND" button to try to sign up for this activity - it will not be recognized by our organization. You must follow the above instructions, including submitting our volunteer application form, getting approved to volunteer, and signing up for the shift in our volunteer app.
